Executive Master in International Law in armed conflict


The Geneva Academy is a joint centre of research and teaching, created by the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and the Law Faculty of the University of Geneva.

The Executive Master is a part-time programme tailored for working professionals - diplomats, civil servants, legal advisers, and staff from diplomatic missions, international organizations and NGOs - with demanding jobs and responsibilities who want to acquire comprehensive knowledge of the rules of international law applicable to armed conflicts and other emergencies.

Courses cover the law of armed conflict, human rights and internationale criminal law. The 2016-2017 programme also features courses on leading issues such as the repression of terrorism and iternational refugee law.

The programme, taught by Geneva-based law profressors and world-wide known law experts and professors, also enables participants to gain specialized knowledge directly applicable in professional work undertaken in the context of international criminal tribunals, internationale human rights mechanism, humanitarian operations and related fields.

The Geneva Academy's premises where the Executive Master takes place are near the restaurant Perle du Lac, in the beautiful and historic Villa Moynier.
